Schemes proposed for implementation in the year 2010-2011

Scheme assistance proposed to provide to the farmers and silk reeling entrepreneur involved in Sericulture industry for the following basic amenities required for silkworm rearing and silk reeling.

·        For planting high yielding mulberry varieties.

·        Provision of training to farmers in silkworm rearing.

         Provision of training to Automatic Silk Reeling Unit Workers in Silk Reeling.

·        For installing drip irrigation system in mulberry garden.

·        For the construction of separate silkworm rearing house.

·        For the procurement of improved silkworm rearing equipments.

·        For the establishment of chawkie rearing centres.

         For setting up of production units for Biological inputs.

         For Door to door service agents for disinfection and equipments supply.

         For supply of quality disinfecting materials.

·        For the establishment of silk reeling units in different levels.

        For the establishment of Silk Twisting Units.

        For upgradation of loom .

       Health insurance for women sericulturists and workers.

       Insurance coverage for silworm crop and assets.

       For the implementation of Central Silk Board assisted Catalytic Development Programme and other developmental activities,  Central Silk Board have earmarked Rs. 1645.49 lakhs as its watching share and so far Rs. 938.712 lakhs released.

        Total allocation of funds by  both central Silk Board and Govt. of TamilNadu for the year 2010-11 is Rs. 2862.219 lakhs. 

Western Ghats Development Programme : 2010-2011

Under WGDP, Rs. 69.60 lakhs has been provided for the year 2010-11. Infrastructure development in Govt. Units functioning this scheme  will be implemented in  Theni , Thirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Dindigul and Virudhunagar Districts

Rs. 15.00 lakhs sanctioned by Govt. under Part-II for purchase of 3 Mahindra Bolero Jeep

Catalytic Development Programme

For development of Sericulture and Silk industry, Central Silk Board supports different activities of the State under Catalytic Development Programme.  Financial assistance is provided for planting high yield mulberry varieties, installation of drip irrigation system, construction of separate rearing houses, procurement of improved rearing equipments, establishing chawkie rearing centres, supply of quality disinfectants etc,. The matching share will be provided by CSB as subsidy.

Assistanmce for Health Insurance to women sericulturists and workers, Establishment of Seri-Poly-Clinic, Setting up of Bio-control agents , support for establishment of Multiend reeling units, Establishment of Automatic Reeling units, support for purchase of Hot air drier, Assistance for Loom upgradation, establishment of CSRTI nodel Handlooms, Insurance for Silkworm crop and assets, Assistance for dyeing and fabric processing training in silkworm rearing etc.,

 

 

Schemes for the Year 2010-11

Eligibility of Farmers :

CENTRAL SILK BOARD ASSISTED CATALYTIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME SCHEMES :

For availing scheme assistance,

a)  The farmers have to plant high yielding mulberry varieties in minimum 1 acre.

b)  The farmers have to rear bivoltine silkworm races.

c)  Farmers who have own land, have an assured source of water, and experience in silkworm rearing.

d)  Application in prescribed format to be submitted through departmental staff of the technical service centre, servicing in the concerned jurisdiction.

 

a) Subsidy for high yielding Mulberry

Unit cost (per acre)                 :           Rs. 5500 / acre

(All new farmers are eligible to avail subsidy. maximum eligibilty upto hectare.

b) Installation of Drip irrigation system

Western Ghats Development Programme:

Government have sanctioned a sum of Rs.69.60 lakhs as subsidy assistance for the implementation of Sericulture schemes in Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar, Kanyakumar, Theni and Dindigul Districts under Western Ghats Development Programme for the year 2010-11.
